What dates are the Academy Games?
Friday, 12th April – Sunday 14th April, 2019
What sports are at the Academy Games?
There will be 8 sports in the 2018 Academy Games: AFL, Basketball, Netball, Hockey, Tennis, Triathlon, Softball and Golf. The Games will also highlight an exhibition Para-sport match, with Wheelchair Basketball and Para-Futsal athletes competing on the Saturday morning of the weekend.
What are the details of the Opening Ceremony?
The Opening Ceremony will be held on Friday 12th April at Broadmeadow Basketball Stadium to begin at 5pm and will run for roughly an hour. It is encouraged that all competing athletes attend.
Athletes are asked to arrive by 4:30pm and make their way to Court 7 to begin lining up in their Academies for the march in. Parents and supporters will be asked to sit in the grandstand to the right of the stage. Athletes will also be given their Welcome Packs at the Opening Ceremony.
Basketball games will be held following the Opening Ceremony, so feel free to hang around and support your Academy!
What do athletes wear to the Opening Ceremony?
Please ensure athletes are in uniform as advised by your Academy.
Will merchandise be available?
Yes, merchandise will be available for the Games courtesy of TLA at the following venues:
Broadmeadow Basketball Stadium(Basketball venue): Friday 12th April & Saturday 13th April
Maitland Basketball Centre(Netball venue): Saturday 13th April & Sunday 14th April
Pasterfieds Sporting Complex(AFL venue): Saturday 13th April
International Hockey Centre(Hockey venue): Sunday 14th April (TBC)
Will the Official Program & Individual Sport Programs be available at my venue?
No, all programs will be only available online. They are available for download on your mobile or desktop from www.academygames.com.au. All team lists, competition format, rules and draws will be in the programs. A printed draw be available at your venue.
Will canteen facilities be available at my venue?
Yes, across all venues except for Triathlon.
Can I attend any of the other sports throughout the weekend?
Yes, you are welcome to go along and support your Academy at any of the venues as long as you are not needed at your venue. Please ensure you let your coach know where you are at all times.

Will there will be an Official Photographer at the event?
Yes, Kevin Bull photography will be present throughout the weekend at will cover a couple of hours per venue. These photos will be available for purchase through a link provided after the Games.
How will we see the results over the weekend?
From Saturday and Sunday evening, Hunter Academy of Sport staff will be collating all the results from the day and uploading them to www.academygames.com.au. Please give them a few hours to ensure that all results are accurate.
Will there be a Closing Ceremony?
No, there will not be an official Closing Ceremony. Each venue will hold a small unofficial presentation of winners.
Each sport will be awarding winners differently, so please check your program.
